Appointments

Routine appointments

Book appointments by phone or at reception from 8am daily. Routine appointments with your chosen clinician can be booked up to two days in advance. Appointments are 10 minutes long, so if you have multiple issues, you may need to book another appointment. Arriving more than 5 minutes late may have to rebook.

Urgent Appointments

For urgent same-day appointments, call at 8am and inform the receptionist you wish to be seen today, who will check availability. The receptionist will ask for basic information to prioritise urgent cases. Note that we cannot guarantee your preferred clinician for urgent appointments.

Cancelling your appointment

If you cannot attend your appointment for any reason, or the health problem for which you booked your appointment has resolved, please call us directly on 01244 563105 to cancel your appointment, cancel using the NHS app, or via the appointment reminder text as soon as possible so we can offer it to another patient.

What is Patchs?

PATCHS is an online consultation service that allows you to quickly and easily access GP services online. All you have to do is answer a few simple questions and PATCHS will get you the help you need quickly.

Patients answer a few simple free text questions, covering the details of their request and any ideas, concerns, and expectations they may have.

This enables the GP practice to quickly and safely understand how best to respond.

How do I access PATCHS?

To access patches, you can click the PATCHS banner on our homepage or at the bottom of this page.

We ask that patients do not request URGENT appointments through PATCHS.

Enhanced Access

From 1st October 2022 Heath Lane Medical Centre will be providing Enhanced Access to GP services at Garden Lane Medical Centre.

The Enhanced Access Hours Service makes it easier for you to get an appointment at a time that suits you, including evenings and weekends.  The service offers pre-bookable, routine primary care appointments with a range of clinicians including GPs, Nurses and Health Care Assistants.

More information can be found here: Enhanced Access | primarycarecheshire

How do I book an appointment?

Contact the practice on 01244 563105 to make an appointment. Some appointments will be available to book up to 2 weeks in advance and some will be available to book on the day.

What can I be seen for?

A range of usual services will be available, from GP or Nurse appointments to Health Checks and Medication Reviews.

Who will I be seen by?

Your appointment will be with an experienced clinician. It is unlikely that you will be seen by your own GP or Nurse. If you would prefer to see your usual GP or Nurse, please book an appointment at the practice during normal opening hours.

Will the clinician I see have access to my medical record during my appointment?

Your medical record will, with your consent, be available to the clinician that sees you. Your record will be updated at the time of your appointment. An appointment with this service will be just like an appointment at your own GP practice.

Home Visits

If you are housebound and require a home visit, please telephone 01244 563105 before 10.30am (if possible) to request a home visit. The patient services member will ask the nature of the problem so that the doctor can visit the most urgent cases first. Not all requests will result in a home visit by the doctor.

The doctor may phone the patient to discuss the problem and an alternative to a home visit may be agreed. It may sometimes be to the patients benefit if they can attend the surgery as the doctor may not be able to assess you as well without equipment at the surgery; if a friend or family member can bring you in, this is often a better solution, and you can often be seen more quickly.

We do not offer home visits to patients who live outside of our normal patient boundary.
